Participants will be exposed to two days of wood design regulation, code, and specifications. There will also be sessions on wind and seismic design provisions and in-depth information on cross-laminated timber in both Europe and the US.

Michelle Kam-Biron is a California licensed structural engineer and Senior Director of Education for the American Wood Council (AWC) where she oversees and develops continuing educational resources related to structural wood for architects, engineers, and code officials.  Prior to joining AWC, she worked for nearly five years in the wood industry as the Senior Technical Director – National Lead Mid-rise/Multi-family Construction for the Wood Products Council initiative WoodWorks.  She also has over 20 years of experience managing, designing and plan reviewing a wide range of projects of various structural materials.  Ms. Kam-Biron graduated from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo with a BS in Architectural Engineering.  She is a certified Earthquake Disaster Assessment volunteer and a member of the International Code Council.   She also serves on the NCSEA Basic Wood Education and Continuing Education Committees, is a Past-President of the Structural Engineers Association of Southern California and the incoming Chair ASCE-SEI Wood Education Committee.
